Position: Department Head – Treasury Operations

Grade: SVP-I/EVP-I
No. of Positions: 01
Location: Karachi

Job Summary / Major Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee end-to-end treasury back-office operations, including trade confirmations, settlements, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate processing of treasury transactions (FX, money market, derivatives, securities).
  • Develop and implement SOPs, and monitor operational risks with robust controls.
  • Oversee daily treasury transactions and reconciliations, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and international standards.
  • Coordinate with auditors, resolve audit findings, and work with cross-functional teams (IT, finance, risk, compliance) to optimize treasury systems and processes.
  • Drive process automation and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with correspondent banks, custodians, and clearinghouses.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing back-office operations team.
  • Monitor and manage risk limits in line with regulatory requirements (SBP, counter-party limits).
  • Oversee SWIFT messages and equity settlement activities (CDC, NCCPL).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Qualification: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an HEC-recognized local/foreign university. Strong background in treasury operations, risk management, and compliance.
  • Age: Up to 55 years (as of March 30, 2025).
  • Experience: Minimum 08 years of banking experience (preferably 06 years in the same role). Experience with financial instruments and Treasury Management Systems (TMS).

  • Manage and oversee the Centralized Remittance Unit (CRU) and Home Remittance Unit (HRU) for efficient remittance processing.
  • Drive operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead a high-performing team to enhance service delivery.
  • Ensure seamless remittance processing, reconciliation, and settlement.
  • Develop strategies to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Ensure full compliance with local and international regulations (SBP, AML/CFT, FATF).
  • Oversee audits and ensure timely resolution of findings.
  • Develop and enforce SOPs to standardize processes and improve governance.
  • Leverage technology and automation to optimize transaction processing and reporting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize remittance products and partnerships.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies, correspondent banks, and financial institutions.
  • Monitor performance using KPIs and provide data-driven insights to senior management.

Eligibility Criteria
