The Chief Minister of Punjab has launched a historic initiative for rural women of South Punjab, focusing on empowering widowed and divorced women by providing them with livestock assets to improve their livelihoods. Through this billion-rupee program, 11,000 impoverished rural women are being supported to achieve self-sufficiency and contribute to the rural economy. In the first phase, 4,870 healthy buffaloes and cows have been successfully distributed in Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalnagar, and Rahim Yar Khan. The second phase will now include applications from Multan, Khanewal, Vehari, Lodhran, Layyah, Kot Addu, and Pir Mahal until November 25. About the Scheme
Under the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister of Punjab, this transformative program is designed to uplift the lives of rural women, especially those who are widowed or divorced. The initiative provides livestock — buffaloes and cows — as productive assets, enabling women to generate income through milk production and livestock breeding.
Phase One:
- Distribution of 4,870 healthy buffaloes and cows completed.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be a rural woman (widowed or divorced).
- Age limit: Up to 55 years.
- Must have verified marital status from the Punjab Social Protection Authority.
- Poverty (PMT) score: Up to 32.
- Applicants who have previously received livestock under any other government scheme are not eligible.

Terms and Conditions
- Only eligible and verified applicants will be considered.
- Each beneficiary will receive one livestock asset (buffalo or cow).

- False information or duplicate applications may result in disqualification.
